PNG Air launches logo to mark anniversary

PNG Air has launched a new logo as well as a K35 discount on all fares to celebrate its 35 years of operation in the country, chief commercial officer Simon Pitt says.
He said in Port Moresby yesterday that the airline remained committed to serving the country for years to come.
The airlines history goes back to Milne Bay, as Milne Bay Airlines, when the company was established and started operations on June 30, 1987, by Sir John Wild.
MBA would later become Airlines PNG in 2001, and then become PNG Air in 2015.
“To commemorate the milestone, we’ve commissioned a special 35th year logo that will set the benchmark for all the activities we plan to do this year,” Pitt said.
“The logo is a representation of all the distinct elements of our livery, represented through the Bird of Paradise.”
He said the K35 discount promotion was for flights April 25 to June 5.
Customers must use the promo code ‘PNGAIR35’ when booking online or in person at any PNG Air, Post PNG sales office or travel agent.
Acting chief executive officer Stanley Stevens said the airline was fortunate to have many long serving staff still with the airline.
“We will be highlighting their stories throughout the year of celebrations.”
