PNG Air names Mano as interim chairman

PNG Air has named Augustine Mano as the board interim chairman following the standing down of William Lamur.
A company statement named Anthony Periera as the chief executive officer effective Sept 29.
Lamur stepped down as a director and chairman from Sept 25.
He had been a director since June 19, 2018, and elected chairman.
The board thanked him for his dedication and hard work.
Mano is the longest-serving PNG board member who joined on March 17, 2010.
Pereira will continue in the role as chief financial officer (CFO) until a permanent appointment is made.
Pereira joined the company as chief financial officer last Dec 10 and was appointed as the acting chief executive officer on May 8.
He has over 30 years senior management experience in aviation, travel and hospitality industries in different countries.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance and a master of business degree in accounting from Monash University, Melbourne.
Pereira is a certified practicing accountant (CPA) Australia and CPA Papua New Guinea in addition to Fellowships of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (Australia) and the Institute of Public Accountants (Australia).
