PNG Air has recorded 24 per cent increase in revenue for the half year to June this year compared to the same period last year.
Acting chief executive Paul Abbot said 2018 had been another year of development and achievement for PNG Air.
“In a year which was challenging for everyone in the retail sector, the airline continued to go a long way towards achieving its goals for the year,” he said.
“It’s a tribute to our hard-working and committed staff that we were able to maintain and intensify the focus on continuous improvement and always providing the best-possible service to our customers.
“Back in 2014, we committed to bringing to PNG brand-new aircraft because this country deserves the best. We firmly believe that the ATR offers the best possible long-term solution for PNG conditions and network requirements.
“The results speak for themselves and certainly justifies the correctness of the re-fleeting choice we made then.”
