PNG Fashion Week ready for the runway

PAPUA New Guinea’s fashion industry is progressing with designs and talent added every year, PNG Fashion Week (PNGFW) founder Philma Kelegai says.
“The 2nd PNGFW (Paradise Runway) is a national brand for us to align ourselves with the best in the industry,” she added.
The Paradise Runway will be held in Hilton Hotel on Sept 17.
“The runway we staged in 2021 was one the best fashion event of the year and we intend to go bigger and better this year,” she said.
In a media conference to announce the event this year, Dagia Aka was announced as the chief executive officer of PNGFW.
Aka will oversee preparations for the Paradise Runway, manage partnerships on behalf of the platform and lead the PNGFW team.
The event will be a culmination of a week of activities such as designers dialogues and a model master-class.
