Hela landowner company Trans Wonderland Ltd (TWL) is one of four accepted by the Queensland state government to undertake aerial mapping and imagery projects in Queensland State and Australia.
Managing director of TWL Larry Andagali told The National that Trans Wonderland Data Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TWL, was accepted by Queensland government to undertake aerial mapping and imagery projects through the department of natural resources mines and energy in Australia.
Andagali said it was a major achievement for a Papua New Guinea landowner company.
“To our knowledge, no other PNG landowner firm has been able to achieve this,” he said.
“It means we have established our credibility and expertise to be one of only four companies qualified to provide large-scale aerial mapping services to the state of Queensland through a rigorous pre-qualification and vetting process.”
Andagali said PNG governors, ministers and State-owned enterprises should take note of the benefits of aerial imagery to them and local communities.
“Geo-spatial mapping data underpins nearly every decision-making process activity, enabling faster, better and informed decisions,” he said.
“TWL Data continues to engage with PNG Government and private firms, and encourages them to utilise the state-of-the-art mapping technology and specially-modified aircraft we have.”
Andagali said TWL undertook this investment not just for the benefit of the company’s shareholders, but also to help PNG’s development agenda and aspirations
“It is clear and in-disputable that high-resolution imagery and mapping plays a critical role across all levels of governments and private sector firms,” he said.
“We are pleased to say that we own and operate world-class specialised aerial mapping aircraft and camera-imaging sensors which are most current.”
