Company secretary and general manager corporate affairs Joe Aisa said during the opening ceremony on Tuesday that Motukea now had offices of the ICA, PNG Customs Service and the National Agriculture Quarantine and Inspection Authority (Naqia) to facilitate international trade.
“The important aspect of this relationship between the ICA, PNG Ports, Customs and Naqia is the protection of our borders,” he said.

“We must be vigilant and protect our borders against counterfeit, dangerous and illegal goods from entering our country through means to bypass the protections we have.

“PNG Ports is grateful to accommodate the facility here at Motukea, our second biggest port in PNG.”
Aisa said as State agencies, PNG Ports and the ICA must work together to meet the demand and expectations of international clients.
He said PNG Ports wanted to make Motukea a one-stop shop.
Chief Migration Officer Stanis Hulahau said the ICA planned to open an office in the Rabaul and Lae ports.
