PNG Law Society retains Kua

VETERAN lawyer Ke­renga Kua has been re-elected president of the Papua New Guinea Law Society for a fifth consecutive term.
This follows the 13th council election of the PNG Law Society, the results of which were declared by the Electoral Commission’s returning officer, Cyril Retaw on Sept 30.
Five members were re-elected. They are Sir Kina Bona (Registrar of political parties and candidates), Davis Steven (principal of Stevens Lawyers), Allan Mana (Allens Arthur Robinson Lawyers), Robert Lee Lindsay (Gadens Lawyers), and Robert G. Bradshaw (principal of Bradshaw Lawyers).
Three new members elected are prominent lawyers Tiffany Twivey-Nonggorr (principal of Twivey Lawyers), Peter Kuman (principal of Kuman Lawyers), and Melvin Yalapan (Petromin).
There were 19 candidates for the councillor positions while three vied for president.
