PNG leaders must be alert to critical issues
The National, Friday June 5th, 2015
I AM not a politician of any position but I feel I must express my view on a matter of great importance to leadership and governance in Papua New Guinea.
Last week or so two senior Papua New Guineans representing a foreign company tried to mislead a senior leader.
They had conjured up some numbers to entice that leader to politically support ‘ a cart before the horse’ project.
PNG was publicised as a bad country when leaders increased PNG’s stake in Porgera Gold Project from 10% to 25%.
In 1979, about 10 years before Porgera Gold Project was approved for development leaders at the time pre-committed PNG to 10% equity stake. At development the project was bigger than the base for the 1979 equity agreement. After a game of hardball, PNG was rewarded with additional 15% equity stake.
PNG leaders must be very alert.
In Revelation 7: 1-9 God says He will open the ‘book of hidden plots.’ In Matthew 22 at the wedding feast, a person without proper robe will be captured and thrown out.
What robe are the two senior Papua New Guineans wearing?
