THE Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League and National Rugby League conducted a three-day coaching clinic for Southern Confederate coaches in Port Moresby.
It started on Monday and ended yesterday, with former Kumul and NRL forward David Wesley taking the 34 participants through theory and practical sessions at the National Football Stadium.
The training is a three-phased programme which ends in May, with coaches earning certification.
Kumuls and SP Hunters coach Michael Marum was involved with the clinic.
Hunters assistant coach Nigel Hukula, former Kumuls Philip Boge, Joshua Kouoru, Bobby Ako, Toua Kohu and Atte Bina Wabo also participated in the clinic.
Coach Moses Matuka said he took some valuable pointers from the clinic and was happy to meet up with fellow coaches to discuss the game.
Westley and PNGRFL development officer Toksy Nema are in Goroka today to conduct the coaching clinic for the Highlands region.
