PNG should invest in oil palm industry
The National, Monday March 17th, 2014
WILMA International Ltd is an established, experienced company that specialises in oil palm cultivation and production.
The potential for oil palm cultivation in the Sepik Plains has been overlooked over the years though there have been talks involving the government and landowners.
The country needs new investments in agriculture and those of us in the oil industry support the initiative by Minister for Commerce and Industry Richard Maru as he spearheads the SME initiative.
It is also good to see the national government supporting Maru with K50 million funding for infrastructure development in the Sepik Plains.
From my experience, any company that wishes to engage in logging prior to or while emphasising on oil palm development should be stopped as they are not genuine.
