Business, Normal

THE Papua New Guinea Business Council has a new president, along with few other new faces on the board, while rest of the board members have retained their positions.
The PNGBC president is Ernie Gangloff, director-risk management services from Deloitte Touche. Gerea Aopi and Jonathan Seeto were re-elected as vice-president and treasurer respectively.
Aopi is Oil Search Ltd’s executive director and general manager and Seeto is the managing partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Executive committee members that have been reelected at the annual general meeting are: Kee Lim – Fairdeal Liquors; Mel Togolo – Nautilus Minerals Corp; David Wong – W H Industries; Stan Joyce – South Pacific Brewery; Troy Stubbings – KPMG Advisory; Paul Barker – Institute of National Affairs and Peter Maiden from Post PNG.
Other committee members elected are representatives from PNG Chamber of Commerce and Industry, PNG Chamber of Mines & Petroleum, Manufacturers Council of PNG and Rural Industries Council.
The AGM progressed well.
However, the auditor was not appointed as conflict of interest arose when Gangloff was a representative from former auditor Deloitte Touche.
The new auditor’s appointment will be made by a resolution at a special general meeting at a later date.
