PNGTA not doing enough

The public notice by PNGTA’s general secretary on the TFF education allocation (The National, Apr 23) cannot go unchallenged. What you did not include was a statement to state how much PNGTA would put in to top up if there was indeed a shortfall in the first quarter. I hope that this public notice or questionnaire was not done to justify your earlier calls for principals and head teachers to charge parents project fees. PNGTA’s primary obligation is the professional development and welfare of teachers, but I am not sure if enough has been done for them.
