POLICE have arrested four men from Eastern Highlands after marijuana and a home-made gun were allegedly found in their possession.
“Members of the NCD Fox unit arrested a man at Gerehu on Friday who upon questioning revealed names of three more suspects involved in the distribution of marijuana and their place of residence,” police said in a statement on its Police NCD/Central Divisional Command Facebook page.
Police said they conducted a dawn raid at Tete settlement in Gerehu on Saturday, and arrested the three suspects.
Police alleged that a home-made pistol and marijuana packages were hidden in the house.
Members of the NCD Fox unit involved in the raid said the drugs were packed and concealed inside kaukau (sweet potato) bags coming by sea from the Highlands through Lae to Port Moresby. Police investigations are continuing.
