POLICE have confiscated documents that were taken out from the Department of Agriculture and Livestock (DAL) at a resident in 8-Mile, Port Moresby.
DAL acting secretary Stephen Mombi said an investigation team chaired by the Department of Personal Management was sanctioned by the National Executive Council in July to investigate the matter.
“The investigation was ongoing after the suspension of DAL secretary Daniel Kombuk,” Mombi said.
“There has been a lot of controversies about cheques been printed from outside the head office.
“The investigation team has identified documents containing information and confiscated by the police this afternoon. Many FF3 (requisition for expenditure form) and FF4 (general expenses form) forms were confiscated.
“The FF3 and FF4 forms have the suspended secretary’s signature. These forms were used to print the cheques.
“These forms were not supposed to be done outside the designated area.
“A printer which was suspected to be used for printing cheques outside the office was also seized by police.
“This information confiscated is part of the ongoing investigation.”
Mombi said the investigation would take a while.
“The investigation team is looking into the matter closely; wee impounded some of the cars at the car park and identified five others already,” he said.
