MAINTAINING police discipline in the South-Middle Fly command in Western remains the priority this year, says provincial police commander Supt Brian Kombe.
Supt Kombe, in the year’s first parade on Friday in front of the Daru Police Station, re-emphasised to his policemen and women that discipline must be applied at all times when executing duties in their respective sections.
“In commemorating Christmas and New Year, we made a resolution that discipline will be our priority for this year,” he said.
Supt Kombe said there were discipline issues in the command.
Last year seven police officers were criminally charged for various offences.
“Four are in in custody awaiting trial in the National Court, three for causing grievous bodily harm and robbery and one for carnal knowledge,” he said.
Discipline is where everything fell in line, he said.
Supt Kombe said he would be moving to the rural outposts in Balimo, Morehead, Lake Murray and Nomad to ensure policing duties were driven by discipline.
