The police force and bad apples

Letters

THIS is in relation to the report “Police recruits face suspension” in The National on Monday, March 19.
This is the wrong start for a group of disciplined officers, who teamed up and harassed new recruits to give them a taste of what they had gone through.
This is the kind of thing we see at high and secondary schools.
If I am not wrong, this is the first time that something like this has been reported from the police training college.
The police hierarchy should make sure it doesn’t happen again.
The officers involved should be dismissed, not suspended. Let them roam the streets again or go back to their villages and till the land.
These are the bad apples who will continue to tarnish the good name of the force. There are many young Papua New Guineans who understand how hard it is to find a job and who will embrace the opportunity to be a police officer.
