POLICE are looking for the owner of the multi-storey building that houses the Blue Diamond Music Club where eight women from mainland China were arrested for suspected vice-activities on Jan 4.
Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Donald Yamasombi told The National that the owner was believed to be out of the country.
“He must make himself available to police questioning,” he added.
DCP Yamasombi said the eight Chinese women had been deported after their tourist visa expired on Jan 30.
He said the women, who stayed in a dormitory in the building where the club was housed, was believed to have been entertaining men for up to K2,500.
DCP Yamasombi said police investigations were continuing and that the International Organisation of Migration (IOM) had been tasked to look into the eight women’s visa status and conduct analysis.
“According to information, the women were hired into the country for a specific purpose and that is why we had tasked the IOM to do a good investigation into their visa and see where they travelled around the world as tourists,” he added.
On Jan 4 police raided the Fujian Entrepreneurs Association building at Erima and found the Chinese women in the club’s lounger entertaining clients.
They entered Port Moresby as tourists.
