Police need help from witnesses

ALL outstanding cases that need police investigation will be looked into but police will need assistance from witnesses and complainants to fast-track the process.
National Capital District Met Supt Perou N’dranou said police would not establish their facts to complete their court files unless the witnesses came forward to the police with all the necessary information to ensure investigations were completed promptly.
He said most of the cases were not completed on time because the complainants that laid complaints did not assist police with evidence such as objects used in committing the offences, eye witness statements, reports from experts such as medical reports from doctors and other supporting documents that would be included in a court file to make up a complete court file.
N`dranou was responding to the media about the progress of the outstanding cases that were reported last year and the progress of the investigation into the arrest and prosecution of the suspects involved.
“All the cases are current and investigators are investigating.”
