Police in National Capital District will be investigating all leads into the death of former Border Development Authority CEO Fred Konga, says Met Supt Benjamin Turi.
Turi said that the murder of Konga last Thursday was planned and the way it was carried out indicated that it was an assassination or execution.
Konga, who had resigned to contest the Jiwaka Regional seat in this year’s national election, was shot  dead in the early hours of last Thursday.
Turi said that the case was now with the criminal investigation division (CID) that would be investigating Konga’s life to find his murderers.
“We will look into his life with the Border Development Authority, the election period and his personal life to find who had any grievances with him,” he said.
“But we believe that from the way he was killed, it was planned, calculated, and executed with precision.
“This was an assassination.”
Turi also assured Konga’s family, friends and relatives that the police were working round the clock to catch the suspects.
