Police to investigate Namah on two allegations

POLICE will investigate two complaints against Opposition Leader Belden Namah, one of which happened in 2011 when he allegedly stormed into a courthouse, according to Police Commissioner David Manning.
He said the other complaint was for alleged fraud.
He clarified that the two complaints were lodged six weeks ago.
“Police will carry out an independent investigation to establish whether there are reasonable grounds to prove that a crime was committed,” Manning said.
“As the Commissioner of Police, it is my duty to ensure that due process is followed without fear or favour.
“Any person suspected of committing a crime is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
He urged all parties to assist police in their investigation.
Prime Minister James Marape said he had filed a complaint with the police six weeks ago to investigate Namah for allegedly storming into the National Court at Waigani in 2011 to arrest the then Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia.
“The police are preparing the file.
“I have asked police to look into this matter from a criminal perspective and lay appropriate charges,” Manning said.
Meanwhile, Namah said yesterday he did not know why Marape was interested in the case.
“The matter went through a leadership tribunal for eight years.
“And I won the case on July 16 this year.
“The (State) appealed against it but I won again on Nov 16.
“The court has exonerated me.”

  • We all saw the video footage… Really unbecoming of a national leader and DPM at that time.
Storming the highest court of the land whilst the CJ was still in session and ordering his arrest. Who does that… Reminiscing the days when Idi Amin Dada was ruling Uganda with an iron fist.

  • The criminal element of his (BN) actions must be investigated thoroughly and charges laid accordingly.

  • It was criminal alright, a reminiscence of the Idi Amin era in Uganda. The PM did the right thing. We want justice to prevail. We do not want people with money and power to escape justice!

  • Arrest and charge that hooligan. This is a democracy and there is no place for little shits who think they can storm the parliament house at will

  • Yes, I certainly agree.

Let the law decided, according to Mr. Manning & when found guilty, charge Mr. Namaha with a hefty fine. It is time for the old roots to move out and the new ones to grow because there’s obviously nothing changing as some people think that the government house is their private business?

    What a shame?

Hilarious staff going on in PNG.

Someone like Belden Namaha, should be investing his money into Science & Technology in order to build the infrastructure for PNG. We need to move into the 20th century rather than sitting down, waving hands, and talking too much, complaining about why, who, should be the PM?

Why can’t you just let the people of PNG decide who should be the PM instead, why fight for the PM position?

Mr. Namaha, you’re wasting your time and everybody’s time!!

Mr. Namaha, I think its time you retired from the government?

  • BN is immune to court, you can try and try but still you can not take BN down. If somehow he holds power, Commission will be the first one to walkout, and others follow suit.

  • One day you will also be investigated for your crimes including abduction and rape of a young girl in Kimbe. Keep pleasing your masters now because when the tide changes, not even your masters today will save you Mr. Commissioner!

  • Mr. Nama its good to see you very concern about the country…but the country has been forgetting you all this time…why not retreat for a while in 2022…

  • Very Interesting turnout of events un-folding. Why can’t the Prime Minister leave the past and move on if he is a true god fearing leader. The way I see it PMJM is taking the Old Testament Moses Law for a tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye. A person cannot be tried in any court of law, including the Leadership Tribunal for the same offense. BN is right to say that he has already been exonerated by t leadership tribunal. The State appealed and failed. People are seeing PMJM as a vengeful person scooping low to dig up the coffin of an issue that has already been dead and buried.

  • I saw a young boy stole a can of Tuna tin fish at a store, was caught by the security guard, beaten up, and taken to the police station, locked up, no bail so was taken to Bomana Juvenile Center for 6 month.

    now

If some one like (BN) storming a high court and is allowed free, and saying his immune to the courts, I feel very sad and sorry for this young boy, and what will the future hold for all the ordinary people of this country.

can the young boy be set FREE too??

  • Namah is way above, beyond and out of reach by the law.

There will come a time when he will wish some things could have been done differently.

  • All Vanimo camp idiots take note, and you want this hooligan to be your next PM. Open your eyes and see stop being bullied by this criminal.
