Policewoman pleads not guilty to wounding another woman

A policewoman pleaded not guilty of wounding another woman.
In the Waigani District Court yesterday was Flora Singol, from Rabiamul village in Eastern Highlands, who was charged with a count of wounding another woman in the Morata Police Barrack in Port Moresby in July.
She appeared before Magistrate Cosmas Bidar for arraignment. It was alleged that on July 20 at around 8.30am at Morata Police Barracks, Singol who was a probationary constable and in full uniform, went to the house of the of another police officer where the victim was babysitting.
The victim was in the house at the time. When she saw the accused knocking at the back door, she went and opened the door. It was alleged that when the door opened, the accused pulled off a portable tablet the victim was holding, pulled out a kitchen knife from her pocket and swung it at her, missing the baby she was holding. The case was adjourned to Jan 19.
