HIGH-PROFILE matches are on the card this weekend in the Port Moresby Australian Football League at the Colts Oval.
The matches begin with fourth-placed Cats facing unbeaten ladder leaders West Eagles in the midday clash tomorrow.
It will be a tough challenge for Cats and a test for them to remain in the top half of the ladder.
Proficient centre man Gilmore Morehari will lead the development squad youngsters against his former Cats teammates in Greg Ekari, Kataha Seewee, Kelly Kaugla, Rex Peregua, Jackson Nawi and Mackenzie Kamang.
Cats coach Joe Maggio will have a few tricks up the sleeve to cut off the Eagles, but the reigning champions will have experienced Jeffery Vogae, Alois Mondo, Pasco Bailey and Daniby Kase.
In the main match tomorrow, Koboni will be playing to retain third spot on the ladder against an impressive Port Power, who are equal forth with Cats.
Power narrowly edged Cats last week, but they will find Koboni a tough nut to crack with experienced all-rounders and PNG Mosquitoes stars Stanis Susuve, Amua Pirika, Brendan Beno, Paul Philip and David Topeni.
In the women’s matches tomorrow, Koboni are expected to dominate University Tigers while Gordon Kokofas face West Eagles.
In Sunday’s matches, Tigers will meet Gereka Bombers in the midday clash and Gerehu Magpies will host Alavana Swans.
In the main match on Sunday, second-placed Dockers will battle Kokofas, who are yet to reach their peak.
