SCHELA Kimpa bagged seven goals to help Port Moresby International School (Pomis) fight back and beat Poinimo 19-14 in the Under-21s of the Port Moresby Netball Association competition on Saturday.
After getting off to a slow start to trail 2-5 at the Rita Flynn Netball Courts, Pomis began there fightback in the second quarter against their Aroma opposition.
Poinimo displayed some impressive ball through by centre Ratania Ila, who created an opportunity for goal attack Charlize Ila to open the scoring.
Poinimo were in control of the game, but poor decisions in attack let them down.
Pomis capitalised on this and swung possession in their favour.
Goal shooter Albertina Pangkatam ensured the ball went through the ring to equalise the scores at 5-5.
At halftime, Pomis were in front 10-7.

Pomis coach Avaireso Enoch switched Pangkatam and goal attack Kimpa to improve their attack.
In the second half, Pomis forced multiple turnovers in defence and attacked with more confidence.
Kimpa had the best quarter as shooter and sank seven goals as Pomis continued their lead.
Poinimo were unable to continue their early momentum and struggled to contain Pomis, who were strong at holding up play and moving into space to take shots.
Pomis showed potential and versatility all game to extend their score to 17 before Poinimo scored seven more goals for a late fightback, but Pomis held on for the win.
“Even though we don’t have enough training sessions due to school work, the girls produced an excellent performance,” Enoch said.
“They pushed through to come out winners despite the humidity.
“I’m really happy with the positive start and am hoping for more wins during the season.”
Port Moresby Netball was hyped over the weekend as the association concluded its heat two of the sprint competition which saw Port Moresby International School (POMIS) defeat Poinimo 19-14 at the Rita Flynn outdoor courts.
