POMSoX gets new, reconstructed website

THE Port Moresby Stock Exchange has a new and reconstructed website, acting general manager Vincent Ivosa says.
Ivosa said following hacking of the POMSoX site last October, the company undertook the reconstruction of its site which went live on May 20, 2016.
“The new site has a much more modern feel to it and has the necessary information for investors,” he said. “The new website allows visitors to view latest company announcements, share prices and a whole range of information regarding our listed companies, listing information, investor seminar programme details and other investor education literature.
“Listed companies have been given the responsibility to upload their announcement when the exchange gives the approval.
“This allows for announcements to be released to the market in a timely manner.”
Ivosa said visitors to the site could view historical share prices in the past six months.
“On the investor education programme, we have commenced advertisement for upcoming first-time investor seminars in Kiunga on September 1, followed by Kavieng on September 6, then to Kokopo on September 7 and Kimbe on September 13.”
Investors attending these seminars will learn about:

  • How to understand  and read share prices;
  • roles of the stock exchange;
  • role and functions of the stockbroker;
  • steps in buying and selling shares;
  • investment options and strategies;
  • steps to become investor;
  • operations of the share market; and,
  • What the benefits and risk levels.
