Poor management to blame for Goroka team’s poor showing

ALLOW me to express my concern on the Goroka Gosiha Football Club taking part in the Telikom National Soccer League.

Firstly, it is a good initiative by Goroka MP Bire Kimisopa and the Goroka District Office to have a Goroka side taking part in this semi-professional league. However, the Goroka Goshia have lost every game played in the 2015-2016 season which reflects poor management of the franchise.

The majority of the players in Goroka Goshia are imported players from Madang and Sepik while most of our Goroka players have been suspended by the team management.

One of the main reasons for our home players’ suspension is their attitude problems as claimed by the team officials.

In a semi-professional league, a team official or a franchise does not interfere with the head coach when he is conducting training with players or making changes in team line up.

Thus, most of our local talents were terminated because of the biased decisions made by the team management.
