Port Moresby looking to secure second spot

Sports

Port Moresby United will be looking to maintain second spot when they meet Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League Southern Conference leaders Hekari United at Sir John Guise Stadium on Saturday.
Third-placed Central United — who trail Port Moresby by one point — take on Eastern Stars, with an eye on second spot.
Port Moresby (20 points), coached by Francis Moyap, are also wary of Bougainville (16) and Eastern Stars (15).
With three round remaining, Hekari (33) will finish the regular season as conference leaders.
Port Moresby are coming off a 2-1 loss to Bougainville and will want to bounce back, as the playoffs approach.
Meanwhile, Kila Babaga’s Central will be aiming to come out strong against Eastern Stars, after last weekend’s 3-1 loss to Hekari.
After last weekend’s 2-1 upset at the hands of Star Mountain, Gulf Komara will not be taking Southern Strikers lightly when they meet in the main game.
Hekari’s Solomon Islands coach Jerry Allan will want to continue their winning streak and make a statement against Port Moresby.
Allan will be without skipper David Muta until the finals, after the veteran midfielder sustained a knee injury.
Despite Muta’s unavailability, Allan will be relying on Koriak Upaiga to lead the side.
