Port Moresby shops have reported increased sales in their shops throughout this festive season.
Brian Bell group of companies, one of the country’s largest and oldest suppliers,
had strong sales in all its divisions.
Chief executive officer Cameron Mackellar attributed the increased sales to the company’s ‘Christmas Massive Marketing Programme’ and its loyal customers.
“We have put lots of effort into our Christmas Massive Marketing Programme for Home Centres,” he said.
“So far, it has been an incredible result for us.”
Mackellar thanked all of Brian Bell’s loyal customers for choosing to shop with them at Christmas.
Other shops in Port Moresby also experienced increased sales during the festive period.
PNG’s largest super market, RH Hypermarket in Vision City Mega Mall, had another busy but exciting Christmas festive period.
Its Gordon and Hohola shops also reported big sales.
“We have sold tonnes of hams, hundreds of Christmas trees, truckloads of chocolates, many gift vouchers and hampers which are already made up to save our customers time whilst in the stores shopping,” said assistant general-manager for RH Hypermarkets Phil Ager.
He said that it has been another wonderful year in a difficult economy.
“Our customers have been loyal to us once again and we look forward to serving so many again in 2019,” Ager said.
Vision City Mega Mall’s sales doubled compared to last year, said mall general-manager Anderson Ting.
“The sales was surprisingly way, way better than last year despite the much talked about and anticipated economic slowdown,” Ting said.
