THE Port Moresby Soccer Association has indefinitely suspended its competition in response to National Pandemic Response Controller David Manning’s new Coronavirus measures.
The National Control Centre, through Manning, has placed a ban on all gatherings of more than 20 people from Sept 30 to Oct 30.
“The association will comply with the directives,” president Joseph Ealedona said in a statement last week.
“Our executive committee is liaising with the relevant authorities to seek approval to complete the 2021 season.
“As part of the approval process, the association will be putting in place measures to minimise the spread of this deadly virus to our members.
“All members will be notified of the details as soon as they have been approved by the centre.
“This effectively means that starting this weekend, matches will be suspended for an indefinite period pending approval from the centre.”
