POST PNG Ltd opened an office inside the new Brian Bell Plaza in Port Moresby yesterday.
Chief executive Peter Tepure said as Port Moresby continued to expand, people also demanded services such as mail and postal and related services.
Tepure said the business was starting to move from its traditional postal products to other vital services such as banking, airline ticket purchasing, money transactions, bills and mobile top-up.
“As the city expands, people are demanding for easy, fast and convenient services in Port Moresby,” he said.
“The challenge is to add new products for people to access.”
Tepure said one of Post PNG’s goals, as a State entity, was to ensure that most of the key government services were offered by them.
“Today, customers in Port Moresby can go to Vision City or Eda Ranu, Gordon,” he said.
“We have eight branches here in NCD (National Capital District).
“Once we activate that, it means that people can go and pay water bills at Gerehu, Boroko, Down town, Water Front, Brian Bell.
“Our objective is to make life easier for Papua New Guineans, and creating the convenience for the public because we are owned by the state.” The new office caters for 15 staff and operates from Monday to Saturday.
