Power play on agenda

PNG Power is on the move, declares acting managing-director Carolyn Blacklock.
She told the 2019 leaders’ summit yesterday that PNG Power was evolving from a conservative, monopolistic-minded and inward-focused corporation to a dynamic, modern Government business enterprise which would deliver for the nation.
Blacklock said PNG Power had started that tough journey and was committed to its success, with Government support.
“Our fight for survival in 2018 was management of cash, accelerated collection of debtors/cash, hydro restoration, reconnection of previously-lost industrial customers, organisational restructure and new leadership team, re-establish functional working relationship with the union and 18,000 new connections.”
