Prayers, fasting programme launched

The Body of Christ launched 40 days of nationwide prayers and a fasting programme yesterday to prepare the nation for the general election.
Body of Christ is made up of churches in the country.
Speaking at the launching, Speaker Theo Zurenuoc said God had already selected leaders and “we just need to take our position in the Lord to help us vote for the right person”.
“We are physically and financially trying to position this country, but it will not happen when we set a time to spiritually position the nation to allow the Lord to do his part. We must never underestimate the power of God,” he said.
Department of Religion, Youth and Community Development Secretary Anna Solomon said this was a vital programme for the country.
Cardinal Sir John Ribat appealed to everyone to come together in prayer.
