A PREGNANT woman who sought help from Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu’s office yesterday was assisted by staff and guards who returned her to Angau Hospital.
Leonie Owen, whose husband, Owen Kusau, was part of the governor’s election committee in Menyama, said she was admitted to Angau’s labour ward on Tuesday and walked to Saonu’s office as she was hungry.
Her husband had gone earlier to Igam Barracks in search of food for her but when he did not return quickly, she decided to seek help from the governor’s office herself.
Leonie said her husband had requested earlier for help from the governor’s office but got no response and after her water broke on Tuesday morning, she had been at the hospital. An exhausted Leonie was told by staff that the governor was away in Port Moresby and was given food and water before being taken back to Angau.
