THE first female president of the Lae/Morobe Chapter of the PNG Australia Alumni Association (PNGAAA) Sheila Harou is calling on those who have studied, lived, worked in Australia and are currently working in Morobe to come onboard and register with the local chapter.
“For those who were sponsored by the Australian and PNG governments or privately sponsored, have graduated and are now working in PNG, count it as a privilege,” she said.
“Be thankful, take pride in your sponsors particularly the Government, take responsibility to give back to the country. I am sure that’s exactly what we are all doing in our respective work places.
“However when we get together and move as an association of graduates and think-tanks we can have a better and bigger impact and influence,” she said.
“My biggest appeal goes to all graduates who live and work in Lae and other outlying districts of Morobe.
“Please come on board, register and let’s build a coalition of partners to become effective and efficient agents of change in our city and the province.”
The PNGAAA comprises graduates from Australian colleges and universities, associates and friends of the graduates.
