ST PETER Channel Catholic Teachers’ College (CCTC) in Kokopo, East New Britain (ENB) has set up a world-class e-learning platform, its principal says.
With the assistance of the New Zealand volunteer service abroad (VSA), the college for secondary teachers’ education now has a high class teaching and learning platform using Microsoft 365.
St Peter’s principal Dr Alfred Tivinarlik told The National that although the college and VSA were already in the process of implementing the e-learning platform, the Covid-19 sped up the implementation.
Dr Tivinarlik said the e-learning platform brought academic, administrative and cost-saving benefits to the college, students and the Government.
He said the central administration allowed the college to securely manage access to its information and learning resources.
Dr Tivinarlik said the students’ e-learning environment gave access to all Microsoft Office applications such as education and collaboration software.
“Most importantly, students will be able to improve their digital skills and learning outcomes and it also means that students will be proficient with most of the software used in the modern work environment.”
The new system allows teachers to work smarter, unlock students’ creativity and potential and provide more personalised learning experiences and support, he said.

I am looking to connect with Dr. Alfred Tivinarlik. We went to school together at the University of Iowa. If you have an email address, could you please send it to me.

    Thank you
