Probe Madang govt for funds

Letters

I THANK the Australian Aid for funding the K4 million Sarang inland road that serve the Kebdagin people of Karkum, Basken, Dimer, Mirap and others along the North Coast Road in Madang.
It is believed that K1.5 million of this K4 million was diverted and used by the provincial government and only K650,000 was used to upgrade this ring road.
We do not know where the remainder of the money is.
Can the police and relevant authorities investigate this?
If there is misappropriation or stealing, those responsible should be dealt with by the law.
We are fed up of hearing about abuses and corruption in the provincial administration.
The province has bad leadership and management.
Can the Government make a law that allows certain aid donor countries to send their own police officers to investigate and arrest people who misuse aid monies and project grants?
