A TRAINING programme aimed at empowering people and leaders to develop skills in project proposal writing was conducted in Herinungu village, Wewak, East Sepik, recently.
The week-long training was conducted by Rubia Training and Consultancy Services and focused on project proposal writing which was a skill that could allow people to seek funding from the provincial and national governments to start businesses and develop their resources.
Training facilitator and programme director Morris Sokondai said they hoped to equip youth leaders, ward members and others to start projects in their community to generate their own income.
He said interest was high among the community for the training.
Sokondai said the training programme aimed to help remove poverty, dependency and the free hand-outs mentality by promoting development in the communities and sustainable income generating projects.
The scope of the training covered project proposal writing, project implementation and scheduling, scope of works, project description and project information.
