Projects need proper audits
The National, Thursday December 3rd, 2015
THE O’Neill Government is spending billions of kina in infrastructure development but the question that needs to be asked is, “Are we getting the monies’ worth of development? The Government is doing a great job in rehabilitating the run-down infrastructure all over the country. We need a prudent audit system that backs the amounts of public funds that are being spent on these development projects. Not only auditing for monies spent but also audit for the quality and quantity of work done. PNG should have an audit office that is used to check for quality and quantity and the amounts spent for the work done all over the country. We have a government that should be responsible to the people and not turn a blind eye by overtaxing wage-earners.
