ROAD projects for the Siassi and Sialum local level governments (LLGs) will follow the current construction and upgrading of roads in the Tewai-Siass, Morobe.
Construction of three major roads in the Wasu local level government started three weeks ago.
Local MP Dr Kobby Bomareo said: “The main aim of these impact projects is to connect the LLGs with their wards through road access so that development initiatives can be activated effectively.
“With these road projects in the Wasu LLG going on now, Siassi and Sialum will also have their road projects coming up in the near future,” he said.
Bomareo said the three newly-cut roads for the Wasu LLG will benefit the communities of Bumbu/Ipang, Domut/Wawet, Belombibi/Hompato and Karangan villages where more than 7,000 people live.
It is hoped that by linking roads, the district will experience new business developments in the area.
He allocated K352,000 to the Wasu Secondary School under the district support improvement programme (DSIP) funds.
Bomareo said the funds would cover the full parental component school fees this year.
While presenting the cheque, Bomareo asked the school administration to refund the fees paid earlier by parents.
He said students attending Siassi High School, Bunsil High, Sialum Technical High and Tewai-Siassi students attending Dregerhaffen Secondary in Finschhafen would be presented their cheques as well.
