ELEVEN policeman attached to the Hohola Police Station in Port Moresby were recently promoted, according to station commander Snr Insp Ben Kua.
Addressing the promoted group at the Hohola station yesterday, Snr Insp Kua urged them to perform their duty with pride and commitment.
He said promotion came with responsibility and challenge and the officers should be presentable at the duty counter or in public when attending to complaints.
“Your promotion is the pride of your family, the police station that you are attached to and your respective supervisors. Look after your ranks and aim to be promoted to higher ranks in the future,” Snr Insp Kua told those promoted.
He said seven of them were promoted to first constable, two to senior constable and two to sergeant.
One of those who were promoted was Sgt Bevan Komong, from first constable.
Sgt Komong, who has been in the force for 25 years, said his promotion was fair and he was happy to be part of those who were promoted.
He said he was the shift supervisor for Hohola.
