Proper market

Business

Battling harsh weather conditions while selling garden produce at Kaupena in Imbonggu, Southern Highlands, near the border with Western Highlands, will be a thing of the past after the provincial government allocated K1 million to construct market places along the highway. Governor William Powi told The National that this was so that farmers had a proper market place to gather and sell their produce to travellers. Powi said the micro-small and medium enterprise development in rural areas was vital and played an important role for economic, social development and employment creation in local level government areas. He said the provincial government aimed to promote and empower people to participate in business activities to improve their livelihood.
