Provide report of Covid-19 expenses

Letters

I URGE the Government to provide a transcript on the use of K5.6 billion Covid-19 funds for people to see if the funds were spent well in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
We have to know if there were any funding made to subsidise food and fuel.
The same should be done for the small to medium enterprise (SME) funding of K200 million.
The list of the beneficiaries should be published for public scrutiny.
The transcript of the K20 million set aside for administrative purposes should published as well to show if it was spent well.
The Government’s credibility will be questioned if it doesn’t provide these information.
The onus is on it to win public confidence and restore its credibility on areas of good governance and accountability.
