PS Rutz maintained top spot in the Port Moresby Soccer Association men’s premier division with a 1-0 win over University Inter in the top-of-the-table clash on Sunday.
In a fiery encounter between the two sides, it was PS Rutz who had the last laugh, with George Kores scoring the winner.
PS Rutz, with the help of Donovan Murray and David Mosim in attack, worked their way inside University’s half but were quickly dealt with by John Ray early on.
Tempers flared in the second stanza after a scoreless first half, with University creating fruitless chances through Riggie and Greg Togubai before Kores netted the winner.
On Saturday, Mungkas continued their form with a 2-1 win over Seeadler while Keleiruna edged Momase 3-2. The final clash saw Cosmos lose 1-3 to Maclarens.
