Public servants’ salaries stagnant

Letters

THIS Government needs to inform public servants around the country on why salaries are stagnant and not improving at all since James Marape and his team took office.
When is public servants’ salaries going to improve? Some public service sectors are performing but officers can’t see improvements in their pay packets. We only hear and see big figures and budgets, but there are no improved salaries for public servants around the country.
This government is not doing well to convince the nation that it is on track. It is only providing speculative figures and unrealistic budgets.
This Government is very good in spreading emotional money talks and figures, promising economic situations, but in reality, nothing is happening on the ground for people to be excited about.
Hardworking public servants are not being compensated accordingly. Every payday, they are still struggling.
The country’s public service needs an improved pay system. Accompanying that is better pay that is aligned with the increasing inflation.
The weakening Kina these days cannot buy families what it used to buy two years ago.
This directly affects work performances of public servants.
It must be remembered that when public servants are happy, performance will improve and the Government will receive praise from all four corners of this nation.
Time to put a smile on someone’s face.
