PUMA Energy country manager and director Hulala Tokome says its renewable energy solutions provide an opportunity for sustainable energy.
Tokome told The National that there had been a gradual pick-up in Puma’s business and expects to finish the year strongly despite some impacts to areas of the aviation sector.
He said the company has been resilient in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I am pleased with the way Puma Energy PNG (downstream and refining) has remained resilient in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic which our employees have embraced,” Tokome said.
“Though we will not meet our 2020 targets, we are seeing a gradual pick-up of our business and we expect to end the year strongly despite continued impact in some key areas such as aviation.
“We managed to maintain our employee levels amid rising national unemployment, by working smarter, reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
“We believe our Puma Future Energy business which we have launched into providing renewable energy solutions holds a significant opportunity for us going forward, working with our customers to harness solar energy solutions for a more sustainable future.”
