Puri urges locals to involve in policing

RESIDENTS of Tabubil town and surrounding communities in Western have been urged to be involved in policing during the festive season.
North Fly Police Commander Superintendent Joe Puri said when launching a special police operation in Tabubil on Friday
“Members of the public must assist police in maintaining law and order,” Puri said.
Witnessing the parade was Ok Tedi Mining Ltd managing director and chief executive officer Peter Graham and other department managers.
Puri told the people that they must not rely solely on police officers to keep the festive season trouble-free.
He also warned the people that illegal activities such as gambling and alcohol abuse would only attract illegal activities.
An alcohol ban has been in place since December 22 to ensure a smooth Christmas and New Year period.
He thanked OTML for supporting the police in maintaining law and order in Tabubil and the surrounding communities.
