Pusblishing ‘shame list’ will damage PPL

What is this country coming to?

It appears that we are being ruled by incompetents.

For example, the PNG Power state of emergency (SoE).

The government decides to declare a SoE so that the police and military can act as debt collectors.

Looks like the board of PPL and IPBC were not consulted.

The CEO of PPL jumps on the bandwagon as he usually does when it has anything to do with pleasing politicians.

The prime minister’s mob is now telling us that the SoE is illegal.

Even the defence force commander was not consulted.

Meanwhile, Ben Micah and PPL decided to publish the list of individuals and entities that they claimed who are bad debtors in the papers.

Don’t the minister and PPL realise that it is defamatory to publish names of alleged bad debtors in newspapers?

Did they get legal advice before publishing the list?

Now thanks to one bad SoE decision, PPL will spend millions defending defamation claims by those on the list.

If they win, PPL will go broke paying more millions in damages.

We are becoming a bad joke.
