THE race for the top-two spots in the Digicel Lae Softball Association (LSA) pre-season competition is now wide open after leaders Kikila Cats lost their games on the weekend.
The Cats lost to Tigers 3-5 and Bismarck 1-14 on Saturday and Sunday respectively. LSA president Lindsay Pulu told The National that the top-two spots in the men’s division were up for grabs.
“If a team lose one game, they could end up missing out on the top-two places,” he said.
“We will not know the make-up of the top-two until this weekend’s results — that’s how tight it is.
“IS&T Manolos and Bismarck still have a game in hand
“For the women’s division, it is clear with Admiralty Marlins securing the first place, leaving the six other teams to battle for the second spot. “This weekend will be the last games.
“The men’s and women’s teams will have a game each before we end the pre-season with the finals next Saturday.”
