AFTER five rounds of games, Tent City Besta Rangers occupy pole spot in the Lae Rugby League 10-team A-Grade competition with second-placed Kendo behind on points differential.
Despite losing their season opener, the International Food Corporation-sponsored team have been in fine form, winning their last four matches to jump from third to pole spot at the Lae Rugby League Ground.
Under the guidance of former Lae Tigers captain Sydney Fred, the Rangers are proving to be a force to be reckoned with, alongside the more established clubs like Royals, Spiders, Magani, Tigers and Panthers.
With no Digicel Cup matches in the Morobe capital this weekend, Crushers will face Raumai 18-Miles United before ESS Morobe Tigers battle QED Magani in the main game tomorrow.
On Sunday, the first game will be between Lae Biscuit Spiders and 21C Panthers, followed by the Prima 13A Bulldogs-Besta Rangers clash.
The main game of round six will be between Royals and 14B Pirates. All Under-20 men’s games will be play on the outside field tomorrow.
The women’s competition will feature three games tomorrow and two matches on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the league confirmed that all the clubs had paid their registration fees and player registration numbers would be issued this weekend.
