RAPATONA has regained the lead in the Port Moresby Super League soccer competition after their impressive 3-0 victory over Hard Rock at the Bisini Soccer ground yesterday.

They were led by skipper Michael Foster who had survived a niggling injury, sustained in the opening half, to complete the match as happy man.

Foster sealed the match with a spot kick while new kid on the block Marcos Luis and striker Felix Bondaluk scored one each to take the Manusians back to the top of the competition ladder on 20 points

Hard Rock also had several opportunities but their strikers failed to find the net.

In the other matches, a young Mungkas side stretched Momase to the limit for a scoreless draw after hard fought match.

On Saturday, John Mogi-coached side Cosmos shocked last year’s runner-ups Yamaros 1-0 to grab number two spot on the ladder with 19 points.

Despite recruiting some outstanding players during this off-season, the New Ireland club have yet to prove themselves.

University made their intentions known that they were not out yet from the premiership contention by stunning Defence 3-2 while competition pretenders Maclaren were fast loosing grip on the ladder after scoreless draw against PS Rutz.

The unofficial ladder is as follows; Rapatona 20, Cosmos 19, Yamaros 18, Momase 18, Maclaren 18, University Inter 16, Defence 15, PS Ruts 10, Mungkas 9, Blue Kumuls 8 and Hard Rock 4

In the women super league, competition pacesetters Mungkas had the minor premiership tag in their bag after a 4-0 victory over Maclaren. The Bougainvillean team were made to work hard after a scoreless opening half.
