Rating conference held in Lae

MOROBE started a week-long provincial rating conference in Lae on Monday where school inspectors from the province’s 10 districts gathered to rate teachers.
Senior school inspector (primary/pre-school) Kwinda Trenian said Morobe had a total of 806 reports to be rated and prepared for the National Rating Conference next month.
The 806 reports, of which 499 are personal reports, while 307 are preschool reports which are to be rated and presented.
“Personal reports are written for promotional purposes by assessing teacher performance while inspection reports are for registration purposes,” Trenian explained.
He said the highest number of teachers to be rated was in the preschool sector because they had not been inspected for several years.
“This is because the province had only one inspector back then,” he said.
“In the rating, we will look critically at the requirements to see if a teacher’s report was eligible or not.”
